Saddleworth Festival has established high standards and traditions since the first Festival in 1957. It is now a firm fixture in the Saddleworth scene and brings together a wide range of international, national and local artists to demonstrate their talent for the enjoyment of all. It provides a platform to see top-quality performers and also gives local organisations an opportunity to demonstrate their talents in a festival setting.
It stays true to its original aim of fostering the arts in Saddleworth and provides nine-days of outstanding and varied entertainment of a high standard. From opera and chamber concerts to afternoon talks and quilts, from Argentinian tango to dazzling jazz, from brass band music to Ruby Turner and internationally renowned violinist Tasmin Little – with plenty more besides – it has something to suit all tastes.
Saddleworth Festival would not happen with out the generous support of a large number of voluntary bodies, individuals and companies whose unstinting efforts and patronage make it possible. As well as enjoying the Festival events why not help support it?
