Come & See Art Trail
June 6 to June 13, 2015,
1.00pm to 4.00pm, Around Saddleworth,
A Churches Together in Saddleworth initiative which involves the churches in Uppermill, Greenfield and Delph when local churches will be open and hosting displays of artwork. A variety of artworks and artefacts form the basis of this reflective art trail based on the invitation of Jesus to ‘Come and See’. From oil paintings to banners, from butterflies to stained glass, the art trial will inspire visitors to deepen their understanding of the life of Jesus and make their own response.
Exhibiting artists include: Rob Floyd who was commissioned by Manchester Cathedral to produce a series of paintings based on the Stations of the Cross which are being loaned by the Cathedral; Jacqui Parkinson’s textile hangings on the themes of Creation and the Lord’s Prayer; Lesley Sutton and Rachel James’ Resurrection piece and Rachel’s Butterfly installation and work by local artist Joyce Parfitt. Each art work/installation will have a Reflection to aid personal meditation.
Trail leaflets will be available during Festival week from Tourist Information in the Museum, Uppermill Library and the participating churches.
