Saddleworth Musical Society Festival Concert

A concert in celebration of British music. Saddleworth Musical Society was formed in September 1958 and continues to be the only society in the Saddleworth area performing a varied annual programme of choral and musical items usually with a full orchestra. The Society prides itself on its choral abilities and their annual programme normally includes a show or operetta in October, a Christmas charity concert in December and a Spring choral concert in May. For their concert at Saddleworth Festival they will perform a selection of British choral songs, 'The Old Hundredth Psalm' arranged by Vaughan Williams, 'Gloria' by Karl Jenkins and a concert version of 'Iolanthe' by Gilbert and Sullivan.
